Latitude Technologies Teams Up with SEI Industries

Combined Sales Operations For Firefighting Systems

Latitude Technologies Corporation of Victoria B.C. announced the signing of an exclusive supply agreement with SEI Industries Ltd. of Delta, B.C. Monday. The agreement covers the integration of real-time sensor gathering, satellite relay and information display technologies for the entire Bambi Bucket product line.

The plan is for that joint sales channels which will be used to develop packaging opportunities for Bambi Bucket/Latitude customers and a ‘one stop shop’ supply chain will be introduced. “Combining the strengths of SEI’s Bambi Buckets with the proven firefighting telemetry experience and quality products of Latitude Technologies seemed natural,” commented Mark Insley, President of Latitude.

SEI has been building the most popular firefighting bucket systems since 1982 while Latitude developed the first flight following and data systems for the BC  ministry of Forests and Alaska BLM in 2001. Since then, Latitude has continued to pioneer the science of fire information systems by developing suppressant monitoring technologies for all air tanker types. “Latitude cut their teeth in the forest firefighting business and we feel the combination of both our companies’ expertise will provide innovative and cost effective products for our customers” added Mark Tayler, General Manager of SEI Industries.

The Bambi Bucket is a collapsible aerial firefighting system designed for use with helicopters. It can deliver up to 2,600 gallons of water or fire retardant, according to SEI.
