Texas Aircraft Manufacturing Introduces New 'LSA' Offering

Corralling Texas Aircraft’s Stallion

Hondo, Texas-based Texas Aircraft Manufacturing has partnered with its sister company, Brazil’s Industria Paulista de Aeronaves (INPAER), to introduce the four-place Stallion S-LSA. The aircraft will be the team’s first approved under the FAA’s proposed 'LSA2023' (MOSAIC)  rules.

“This is an incredible day for everyone at Texas Aircraft’s facilities in Texas and Brazil. This program has been in development for a long time, and we’re so very excited to introduce the Stallion S-LSA,” stated Kyle Braga, North American Sales for Texas Aircraft Manufacturing. “With its spacious, four-place cabin, and reliable Lycoming 200-horsepower engine, the Stallion offers a higher level of styling, performance, and value to pilots who need the extra two seats but want the affordability of an S-LSA.”

Braga added that the first prototype Stallion S-LSA was built at the INPAER facility in Campinas Sal Paulo, Brazil, and is currently undergoing flight testing to collect flight data in preparation for design finalization and eventually earning the FAA’s new LSA2023 S-LSA approval.

“While we anxiously await the FAA’s decision on the new LSA2023 requirements, the Stallion’s ASTM approval process has already begun in Brazil, and our current expectation is to begin the same process in the U.S. in early 2024,” he added. “Right now, we plan on displaying the Stallion at next year’s Sun ‘n Fun event in Lakeland, Florida."

“While the all-new Stallion is the culmination of seemingly endless hours of work by an extremely dedicated team, none of it would have been possible without the guidance of our chief design visionary, Caio Jordão,” Braga said. “Caio is the visionary who designed Texas Aircraft’s popular Colt S-LSA.”
