New Halo Model Set to Top Company Range Of High-Endurance, High-Performance Business Jets

Bombardier has announced its most advanced long-range business jet yet, with the announcement of their new Global 8000. 

The Global includes a series of new, next-generation designs and technology that allow a top speed of Mach 0.94 and 8,000-nautical mile range. Armed with next-gen GE Aviation Passport engines, smooth flex wing, and 4 cabin zones, the Global 8000 takes the Bombardier lineup to new heights. Better news for owners of the Global 7500, a few of the goodies from the new aircraft are available for retrofitment.

It's a fine time to announce a new halo model in the Global lineup, as the industry reasserts itself in the continuing aftereffects of the 2020 economic shakeup. The Global 8000 includes more than a few fresh changes to address modern customer demands, even outside the aircraft's long legs. As business aviation has taken a larger role in the global transportation market, high speed and extended range have come to be even stronger selling points to the upscale clientele leaving commercial passenger carriers in droves. Not only that, but the obvious wellness implications of flying alongside crowds of people won't return to invisibility after years of wariness. Bombardier understands the change and capitalized on such concerns with the addition of the "healthiest cabin in the industry", with an impressively low 2,900-foot cabin altitude and constant fresh air replacement. The company claims that its own "Pur Air" filtration system boasts some of the cleanest cabin breathing around. 

Livability and usability is a definite focus, as the Global 8000 offers 4 separate living zones with an array of comfort features, from lighting systems designed around natural sleep rhythms to multi-position 'zero gravity' seats. The principal suite receives a full-size bed, standing shower, and cabin entertainment system with all the fixin's needed in a  a top-flight flagship aircraft. The passengers aren't the only ones flying in comfort, as the Global 8000 includes Bombardier's Vision flight deck system with fly-by-wire handling, synthetic vision, and automation. 

The Global 8000 will make its way to market in 2025, and development remains on schedule for its intended release. Global 7500 operators will be able to obtain the performance-enhancing modifications in that same year.
