AMA Foundation To Host Jet Rally At Fly Iowa 2017

Model Aircraft Pilots Are Invited To Participate August 24 - 27

The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Foundation, in conjunction with Fly Iowa 2017, will be hosting the AMA Foundation for the Future Jet Rally in Ottumwa, Iowa from August 24 to 27.

The AMA Jet Rally will be held at the Ottumwa Regional Airport on a 100’ x 3500’ run-way, closed to full-scale aircraft for the weekend. The pilot registration fee for this event is $75.00 and includes the pilot’s steak dinner with live entertainment, meet and greet with airshow pilots and VIPS, as well as one pit crew pass (does not include dinner).

The vision of the AMA Foundation is to inspire interest in the model aircraft hobby through educational program and services. Model aircraft helps foster an interest in the scientific, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields and encourages young people to explore careers in STEM that continue to be vital to our future. In support of this vision, the AMA Foundation provides scholarships to graduating seniors and supports AMA’s ongoing educational efforts.

This year will mark the 25th Anniversary of Fly Iowa and Ottumwa has planned a two-day event which promises to be packed full of fun and entertainment for all ages.
