Aero-TV: Oshkosh 2012 Revisited -- One On One with Rod Hightower (Part 1)

Frank and Comprehensive Interview Offers Insights Into Hightower's Leadership

Just before this year's annual aerial extravaganza at Oshkosh, ANN managed to wangle some quality time with EAA Boss Rod Hightower.... just a year into this official leadership of the organization.

Webcast in five parts as a component of our daily LIVE Airborne coverage during the show, we've had a number of requests for the interview, itself, separate from all the many other stories that were part of each day's jam-packed episodes.... and here it is.

Amazing frank and covering some of the topics that EAA hasn't said much about lately, Hightower took on all questions and responded to every one. While he may not have been happy with all the topics, he did answer all our questions and provided a fair amount of insight into the evolving processes he is developing as he recrafts EAA for the future.

We hit all the highpoints, the AirVenture Cup issue, the loss of the Canon and Flying magazine facilities, the lack of MoGas at Oshkosh, the depressing state of the LSA program, the controversial new Chalet program and their flightline placement... you name it, we stuck our nose in it. On the even of what was guaranteed to be the most "political" Oshkosh in recent memory, we gained new insight into the potential future for EAA and the processes that Hightower may employ to get there.
