Former Governor Romney Threatened On A Flight From Vancouver

Another Passenger Threatened Physical Harm To The Politician

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (pictured) was on board an Air Canada flight Monday morning when he was threatened with physical violence by another passenger on the flight.

Romney, the 2008 Republican Presidential candidate, who was also president and CEO of the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002, had attended the opening ceremonies for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. He and his wife were seated in row 15 on an Embraer 190 regional jet waiting for departure from Vancouver when Romney reportedly the passenger sitting in front of his wife to put up his seat back so the plane could depart.

Romney's spokesperson Eric Fehrnstrom told The Globe and Mail that the other passenger "became physically violent," going so far as to try to strike Romney.

At that point, the paper says Romney took no other action and allowed the flight crew to do its job. The aircraft returned to the gate, and the passenger and his luggage were removed from the aircraft by the RCMP.
