Get Your Own Cockpit Voice Recorder

Aircheck Introduces $499.00 Cockpit Recorder For Private Pilots

AirCheck, Inc. has a new product that can take some of the guesswork out of GA communications. Its new COCKPIT RECORDER is designed for use in private aircraft.

"The COCKPIT RECORDER records all cockpit and off-air communications," said Michael Arbuthnot, AirCheck’s Business Director. "It comes with twelve minutes of continuous Air Traffic Control recording.  But because it does not record the time between communications or ‘dead air’, the amount of recording time can span from twelve to sixty minutes or more of flying time."

ATC dialog is recorded and stored as individual messages making playback simple. Just press the forward or back button to hear or scroll through the messages.  Never miss a critical communication again.

AirCheck says this could save your life.  "The unit resides inline with your headphones so installation takes only seconds, and no FAA certificate is needed," said Arbuthnot.

The COCKPIT RECORDER also comes with paperless, heads-up checklists for standard and emergency procedures.  It is available preprogrammed for the owner’s specific aircraft, or can be upgraded with the checklists for the 50 most popular aircraft.  This option is ideal for pilots who have multiple aircraft or frequently rent different models.  There is also an auxiliary input jack for a portable MP3 or CD player with auto muting.  Power is supplied by an internal battery or an optional DC adapter.

Arbuthnot went on to say, “The beauty of the COCKPIT RECORDER is its ease of use which helps to alleviate cockpit stress and reduce the chance of accidentally skipping a checklist item.  But the best part is not having to ask ATC to say again.”
