Source: Mike Flores, president of the Master Executive Council for the Association of Flight Attendants for US Airways, on the news US Airways CEO W. Douglas Parker refused to accept a $770,000 bonus he earned as chairman of America West Airlines, now merged with the carrier. Parker told Flores he wouldn't accept his bonus since the newly-merged US Airways has yet to turn a profit -- and employees haven't been able to benefit yet from a new profit-sharing plan. Parker's move is a rare sign of altruism not commonly seen among the airlines; in fact, it's not even seen among other managers at US Airways, many of whom took their own bonuses without reservation.
