Superior Asks, 'Want to Build Your Own Engine?'

You Can Build As Much, or as Little, As You Like, Under Four New Programs

Superior, Inc. has several useful and exciting engine assembly options available at their new state-of-the-art engine Build Center located in Coppell (TX). Tim Archer, Senior Vice President noted, "The new Build Center captures the enthusiasm of sport aviation by offering experimental engine owners a whole new experience in engine ownership."

Superior's Build Center gives customers four assembly options when purchasing an engine designed for the sport aviation market.

  • Option one, or the standard option package, is an XP-360 Engine that is fully assembled and tested at Superior's Build Center, and then shipped to the owner's location of choice for installation.
  • Option two is for the engine owner who wants to know more about basic engine operation and how their engine is assembled. Owners selecting option two will visit the Build Center and receive a short training course on basic operation and actually view their XP-360 Engine's being assembled and tested.
  • Option three is for the owner who has the experience and enthusiasm to get hands-on and actually build their own XP-360 Engine under the guidance of a Superior Build Center engine-assembly technician. This option includes general instruction on engine build procedures, basic engine operation and scheduled maintenance.
  • Option four is for the builder who has the desire and necessary skills to build an engine on their own. With this option, Superior supplies all of the necessary components in the form of a SL 360 Engine Kit for the builder to assemble a 180 horsepower engine. (Unlike options one, two and three, option four is not an XP-360 Engine.)

"Superior is shaping the future of sport aviation by providing the most advanced technologies in experimental engine development to our customers in the most state-of-the-art facilities, and our goal is to provide pure customer delight in doing so," explained Archer.

The XP-360 Engine is available with a one-year warranty, or an optional three-year warranty for an additional charge, and the SL 360 Engine Kit is available with a one-year warranty on parts; all warranties are valid from the date of shipment. Interested XP-360 Engine and SL 360 Engine Kit owners can visit Superior's web site for Build Center option pricing and details, or contact the Superior sales staff who will assist them with option selections.
