Avidyne's Flightmax Entegra Integrated Flight Deck Certified On Lancair Columbia

Avidyne has announced they have received FAA certification of their FlightMax Entegra Integrated Flight Deck for the Lancair Columbia 400. FlightMax Entegra will be offered as standard equipment on the Lancair Columbia 400.

The FlightMax Entegra system for the Columbia 400 features the unique portrait versions of Avidyne’s large 10.4” EXP5000 Primary Flight Display (PFD) and EX5000 Multi-Function Display (MFD).  FlightMax Entegra for the Columbia 400 fully integrates autopilot functions, providing flight director capability, full autopilot control and mode annunciations on the EXP5000.

Entegra’s EMax engine instrumentation system has been enhanced to provide support for the Lancair Columbia 400’s turbocharged TSIO-550 engine, taking the guesswork out of fuel and power management. Enhancements include lean assist, percent power and fuel totalizer functions optimized for the Columbia 400 as well as the display of turbine inlet temperature. FlightMax Entegra for the Columbia 400 also adds the ability to display TIS traffic.

The EXP5000 includes Avidyne’s fully integrated solid-state Air Data and Attitude/Heading Reference System (ADAHRS), which now supports in flight alignment and alignment during taxi. Lancair offers Entegra’s integrated datalink weather capability and EMax™ engine instrumentation as optional equipment.

“We are very pleased to continue our long standing partnership with Lancair,” said Mark Sandeen, Avidyne’s vice president of sales and marketing. “We have worked closely with Lancair to develop an integrated flight deck uniquely optimized for the Lancair Columbia 400.”

“Avidyne has been a terrific partner and we are happy to be offering the most advanced integrated flight deck available on a single-engine piston aircraft,” said Lancair president Bing Lantis. “We chose FlightMax Entegra because of its unmatched situational awareness, its intuitive user interface and Avidyne’s track record of leadership in bringing new technologies to market.”
