Skydiving Museum Fundraiser Nets $15K

Pat Moorehead's Team Completes 9 Jumps At 90 Years Old

To celebrate his 90th birthday, long time skydiving legend Pat Moorehead completed 9 jumps over the morning of November 20th, 2021. Across all methods of support, his work raised over $15,000 for the International Skydiving Museum, while setting a world record for the oldest skydiver to tackle the feat in history.

Pat was accompanied by additional parachutists in the region flying 90-shaped formations over the drop zone while a crowd of hundreds watched on from below. The donations will go towards operations for the International Skydiving Museum & Hall of Fame to keep future generations apprised of the history, the travails, and the victories of the sport. The museum has become a hub for those interested in skydiving history of accomplishment, even including an adjacent wingsuit wind tunnel, one of only two in the world. The tunnel allows first-timers, non-divers, and even children to experience the novel experience of wingsuited flight and practice technique in perfect safety. Additional exhibits, video simulators, even virtual reality jumps make the center a suitable stop for students, enthusiasts, divers, or anyone else lucky enough to drop by the Port Orange, Florida location. Supporters of their mission can contribute to the organization through the museum's website below.

Pat's work has made him a fixture of the skydiving community, both as a record holder, active industry fixture, and celebrity. Pat is a long time supporter of the Museum, being a part of the International Skydiving Hall of Fame Class of 2016, as well as an Ambassador and Trustees Award winner. A long time performer and actor, he has been a part of numerous media projects, as well as the California Aerial Circus Parachute Team. Moorehead has served on the United States Parachute Association’s board of directors and received their Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on the craft.
