FlightSimExpo Lands in Houston 23-25 June

Hobby Time

Upwards of two-thousand attendees are expected to participate in FlightSimExpo, a dedicated flight simulation event organized by the Flight Simulation Association, a community-driven organization of developers, simmers, and real-world pilots about the noble business of improving in-home flight simulation and broadening access thereto.

FlightSimExpo 2023 will be held across two locations near Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) from Friday, 23 through Sunday, 25 June 2023. The event affords flight simulation fans opportunity to interact with developers, try out the latest simulation hardware and software, and meet fellow practitioners of the simulation arts. The event is open to the public and welcomes flight simmers, pilots, and enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels.

FlightSimExpo is intended to inspire the next generation of pilots and showcase state-of-the-art digital tools and techniques germane to flight-training.

Event organizer Evan Reiter, himself an airline pilot eminently familiar with simulator training, remarked: “The show is open to anyone, not just pilots. That said, those thinking of flying recreationally or professionally will have plenty to gain by better leveraging technology like this throughout their flight training.”

The event gets underway on Friday, 23 June at the DoubleTree Houston Hobby with a series of product announcements and reveals presented by a number of the flight simulation business’s preeminent developers.

On Saturday, 24 and Sunday, 25 June, the event shifts to the Lone Star Flight Museum, a short (15-minute) drive from the DoubleTree Hotel and Hobby Airport. Amongst the museum’s warbirds, fighter jets, and drones, event attendees will find hands-on exhibits by dint of which they may sample the latest in flight simulation hardware and software. Speakers will present how-to seminars and educational discussions throughout the weekend. What’s more, newcomers to flight simulation may avail themselves of event tours and getting started presentations.

Parties interested in learning more about or registering for FlightSimExpo are invited to visit the event’s website. In-person registration options start at $50. For those traveling to Houston, discounts are available on airfare, hotels, rental cars, and parking.

Those unable to attend the event in person may do so virtually. Online registration is available for $15 and covers full access to livestreams broadcast from the event.
