Major Resources Expended To Update Five Locations
Understanding the atmosphere of an FBO is a key contributor to the overall customer experience, Avflight Corporation focused on more than just growing its network to 16 locations this year; it expended major resources to update five locations into premier FBO facilities with the help of Avfuel Atmospheres, a division of Avfuel Corporation that assists FBOs with interior design considerations.

Those FBOs receiving an Avflight upgrade this year included Avflight Gunnison (KGUC), Akron-Canton (KCAK), Columbus (KGTR), Traverse City (KTVC) and Harrisburg (KMDT).
“Avflight is focused on delivering a consistent experience from one location to the next,” said Carl Muhs, Avflight president. “We’ve always delivered the quality of service that Avflight is known for at each location; it was time to take a good look at how we were branding ourselves. That’s when we got the ball rolling on creating a unified look across Avflight locations so customers can walk in and sense the familiarity.”
Though striving for a consistent style across locations, each remodel was unique to the needs of the FBO:
- Avflight Gunnison received a new paint and color scheme (reds, greys, black and silver) with updated furniture, remodeled restrooms, and new décor and artwork.
- Avflight Akron-Canton received new exterior signage and improved curb-appeal, along with new flooring and carpeting, a new front desk, updated furniture, a fresh coat of paint in the Avflight style, remodeled restrooms, and new décor and artwork.
- Avflight Columbus now conforms to Avflight’s color scheme, and received new flooring and carpeting, a new location for the front desk, kitchen upgrades, new furniture, remodeled restrooms, and new décor and artwork.
- Avflight Harrisburg received new furniture while management is considering construction on the facility moving forward.
- Avflight Traverse City is currently undergoing renovations that will also provide a consistent Avflight experience in northern Michigan.
These updates follow the complete rebuild and renovation of Avflight’s Saginaw, MI headquarters (KMBS) in 2011, and the complete interior renovation of Avflight Detroit City (KDET) from 2011- 2012.
