FAA Informs The Community Of Drone Safety Week

Event Will Take Place September 13-19, 2021

The third annual National Drone Safety Awareness Week will take place on Sept. 13-19, 2021. The FAA encourages the drone community to participate and interact at the event.

Moving forward with the FAA continuing to integrate drones into the National Airspace System, one of the most important details will be ensuring drone pilots understand the responsibilities involved with flying safely.

During the duration of the campaign, pilots and recreational flyers can discuss passions in the industry, while experts will share with them the pressing drone safety educational topics. New requirements for the drone community will also be discussed.

Specific themes will be discussed over the duration of the week, with a different theme for each day:

  • Monday: Safe Flyers Take The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)
  • Tuesday: Register and Mark Your Drone
  • Wednesday: Become a Part of a Flying Community
  • Thursday: New Rules – Remote Identification and Operations Over People
  • Friday: Public Safety & Public Acceptance
  • Saturday and Sunday: Share the Skies – Get Out and Fly

The FAA encourages participants to prepare by sharing graphics and resources available for participants in National Drone Safety Awareness Week:

  • Check out the Guidebook for ideas and inspiration.
  • Download the National Drone Safety Awareness Week graphics and apply them to your event materials.
  • Follow @FAADroneZone on Twitter and Facebook throughout the week.
  • Tag your social media stories with #DroneWeek to let us know you’re participating in National Drone Safety Awareness Week.
  • Give us your best shot: find out how you can participate in the Drone Safety Awareness Week photo showcase.
  • Share your planned events with the entire community using the Unmanned Safety Team’s National Drone Safety Week Voluntary Tracking Tool.
