Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Air Show Season Coming!

Weekly Flying, Special Events, Wednesday Flight Nights, And More

The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Red Hook, New York, put out an update on its approaching 2025 air show season, and as usual it’s chock-full of goodies that you’ll need to get tickets for!

Winter has been the time for planning its special events and theme weekends that begin June 14/15, running through October 19.

Old Rhinebeck hosts air shows every weekend, weather permitting of course, with many of them featuring a special theme before and after the flying part of the program.

Saturday shows highlight the History of Flight from the pioneer days before World War I, teasers for its WWI Show, to the golden age of aviation in the 1920s and ‘30s. The Sunday show is the WWI dog fight extravaganza with a heroine and the villainous Black Baron of Rhinebeck, pyrotechnics, and a WWI battle tank. Many antique cars are present for this one as well.

The show stars historic airplanes such as the Museum’s 1909 Bleriot, the oldest regularly flying airplane in the Western Hemisphere. There is also a Fokker DR-I Triplane, the most recognizable fighter of WWI, as well as a precise replica of the Spirit of St. Louis which Charles Lindbergh flew from New York to Paris in May 1927.

Naturally, the aircraft on the flightline are constantly rotating between flying and the maintenance chores that go with owning vintage aircraft, so most times, between 15-20 will be available for flying.

The folks at Old Rhinebeck suggest purchasing tickets ahead of time because they are popular and well-attended. Not just for the weekly shows but also for special events and Wednesday Flight Nights that feature food trucks, bands, dancing, and of course, biplane rides!
