Sikorsky And Saab Launch New S-92 Customer Support Center

Will Provide Maintenance For North Sea Operators From Facility In Norway

The defense and security company Saab has become a Sikorsky-authorized S-92 helicopter Customer Support Center. The Customer Support Center will operate out of Aircontact Aviation Maintenance AS facility in Stavanger, Norway, and will offer maintenance services for North Sea operators of S-92 helicopters. The announcement was made at the 2015 Helicopter Association International Heli-Expo show.

"We are excited to add to our customer support in the North Sea with the opening of this center," said Peter Grant, Director of Aftermarket Operations for Sikorsky Commercial Systems & Services. "By becoming a Sikorsky-authorized S-92 Customer Support Center, Saab validates their ability to assist customers with our growing fleet of more than 240 S-92 helicopters."

Saab, from its location at the Aircontact Aviation Maintenance AS hangar facility, will provide support and enable quicker access to Sikorsky's logistics and spare parts inventory for S-92 operators in the region.

"The confidence that Sikorsky places in us to operate their North Sea S-92 Customer Support Center is a testament of our unique technical expertise when it comes to helicopter maintenance and support solutions. Our initial commitment will be to provide cost effective maintenance inspections and services in order to ensure high availability of the S-92-helicopters. We look forward to a long-term relationship with both Sikorsky and the S-92 operators in the North Sea region," said Jonas Hjelm, Senior Vice President and Head of the Support and Services business area at Saab.
