Announces EASA Approval For G1000Nxi In The P2006T Twin

By Gene Yarbrough

Tecnam Aircraft held a press briefing Wednesday announcing several newsworthy items. Tecnam has received EASA approval for G1000Nxi in the P2006T twin. The G1000 features a number of significant avionics enhancements and brings the P2006T to a state of the art level with wireless database updates, enhanced situational awareness, cockpit connectivity, and synthetic visual approaches. Included in the suite of upgrades is ADS-B out provisions and cabin upgrades including new seat designs with electronic adjustment. FAA approval is pending.

Tecnam has completed S/N 002 of the P2012. The P2012 type is currently in flight-testing with S/N 001 having accumulated some 100 hrs, S/N 002 will join the effort soon, with customer deliveries expected in 2019. The P2012 is the next iteration of the high wing twin Tecnam has brought to market. A smart looking mid-cabin twin aircraft targeted for flight schools and personal use. The P2012 is powered by the Lycoming 375 hp, which will increase performance dramatically over the Rotax mills on the P2006. List priced at Ä2,200,000 ($2.6M) the P2012 is a major contender for the light twin market.

Finally, Tecnam announced several new US dealers in the Mid-west, Great Lakes, and Northeast areas. Steve Broussard, owner of Team Aircraft will the Tecnam distributor for the Midwest and Northeast regions. Advanced Aircraft owner and Team aircraft member Mark Gregor will handle the Great lakes region.

Tecnam aircraft are beautifully designed, well built, and show a true spirit to deliver outstanding quality and performance for a reasonable price. The Italian company continues to be a shining star in the general aviation segment.
