ATR Says Things Are Looking Up in Asia, Regional Market

Promising Trends, Upward Market Trajectory for Self-Styled “Number one Regional Aircraft Manufacturer”

ATR chief exec Nathalie Tarnaud Laude said the brand left the Paris Air Show with 22 aircraft ordered (24, should options be exercised in the future). All in all, ATR once again saw considerable popularity for its 72-600, the brand’s high-wing, twin turboprop.

A few sales were publicized, with 6 72-600s on the way to Mandarin Airlines, 2 to Berjaya Air, and 3 to Azul. A trio of undisclosed customers accounted for another 8 72-600s, The last 3 aircraft, ATR 42-600s, were sold to similarly unknown clients.

Continuing its run of optimism, ATR said that “despite continued tensions on the supply chain”, it remains “on track to achieve its 40+ delivery objective for 2023.” In order to meet their goals, ATR plans to add another 12% to its employee family by the end of the year, allowing it to ramp up production efforts ahead of an additional STOL model.

“ATR’s purpose is to connect communities and businesses affordably and responsibly in the most complex operational environments,” said Laude. “Already today, our aircraft emit 45% less CO2 than similar-size regional jets, and with our EVO concept, we want to cut emissions further down. Thanks also to government support, we are investing in technologies which will be used on our next generation aircraft, and we will get more results from the feasibility study by year-end.”
