ATLAS Space Operations Confirms Panelists Chris Mccormick, Blair Dewitt, Jerry Miller, And Fredrick Jenet For The Inaugural Event

ATLAS Space Operations, Inc. has announced the confirmation of Chris McCormick, Blair Dewitt, Jerry Miller, and Fredrick Jenet as contributing subject-matter-experts on the “What’s It Good For?” panel, as part of the inaugural Michigan Space Forum being held June 8, 2018 at Northwestern Michigan College, in Traverse City, Michigan.

The Michigan Space Forum will host more than 20 prominent speakers and panelists from the space and tech industries, including entrepreneurs, aerospace engineers, and business leaders. Headlining the event as Keynote Speaker is Jim Cantrell, who will speak on a new model for space launch, likening rockets to racecars. Cantrell has a distinguished pedigree of space entrepreneurship. In addition to being the co-founder and CEO of Vector Launch, his distinguished career also includes co-founding SpaceX as well as Moon Express.

The “What’s It Good For?” panel will discuss the technological advancements that are rapidly bringing the world towards complete connectivity for all things, thereby opening infinite possibilities for data acquisition, storage, and analysis, e.g., the “Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT transcends physical devices, vehicles, home appliances and other items embedded with electronics; it includes everything from micro and macro trends in weather forecasting to species awareness and protection. Contributors on the “What’s It Good For?” panel will discuss all of these things and more, as they seek to quantify how these technologies are contributing to building a better world for our future.

Chris McCormick, Co-Founder and CEO of PlanetiQ, brings more than thirty years of collective experience in aerospace, communications, and engineering, with subject-matter-expertise in the development and miniaturization of entirely new, mission-capability components. Blair DeWitt, Founder and CEO of Lunar Station Corp, is an experienced entrepreneur with developing new opportunities for commercial space-based operations including creating solutions that transform global strategies for accessing the resources on our Moon. Jerry Miller, Founder and CEO of LTM Systems, brings more than 25 year of experience with advancing new technology in the commercial world in a variety of fields and markets including Force and Torque Transducers, Oilfield Instrument Systems, Electric Fastening Systems, Satellite Telemetry, and High Performance Electric Motors. Fredrick Jenet, Ph.D, is a founding member of the North American Nano-Hertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav). Professor Jenet is utilizing the unique properties of radio pulsars to detect and study fluctuations in space and time known as gravitational waves.

Other topics for panel discussions scheduled at the Michigan Space Forum include the development of future space entrepreneurs; vehicle diversity in the launch segment; technologies used for viewing the Earth from space; and the advancement of Michigan’s Space Industry. Other speakers and panelist for the Forum include industry leaders representing Virgin Orbit and Boreal Space, as well as educational leaders the University of Michigan and Michigan Technological University.
