NATA Names Timothy Obitts Senior Vice President & General Counsel

Will Lead Development Of Benefits And Products For Businesses

The National Air Transportation Association is pleased to announce the selection of Timothy R. Obitts as the association’s Senior Vice President for Business Development, Membership & General Counsel.

Obitts will lead NATA’s development of benefits and products to assist general aviation businesses in better serving their customers.  Obitts will also act as the association’s General Counsel. “Tim Obitts’ past entrepreneurial experience in starting and operating businesses, coupled with his time as a managing partner of a D.C. law firm, is an important asset in NATA’s efforts to provide additional value to our members,” said NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks.

Prior to joining NATA, Obitts was the Managing Partner of the law firm Gammon & Grange, P.C., specializing in the representation of nonprofits, including trade associations.  During his 17 year tenure at Gammon & Grange, P.C., Obitts also created and sold several businesses, most recently a radio station that was moved from a minor market to a major market. Prior to becoming an attorney, Obitts was an executive with a national retailer.

“I appreciate the opportunity that Mr. Hendricks and the NATA Board of Directors have afforded me.  I look forward to working with the NATA team and its membership to keep our benefits and services on the leading edge,” stated Obitts.
