CMax Shows Approach Plates, Overlays
Avidyne has announced
that Jeppesen’s JeppView® Electronic Airway Manual charts
will be available on FlightMax Entegra, EX5000, and EX500
multifunction displays.
CMax™ Approach Charts, Avidyne’s innovative
implementation of this electronic chart capability, displays
approach charts and airport diagrams with an overlay of the
pilot’s flight plan and present position. CMax provides
on-demand access to the worldwide library of JeppView electronic
charts and airport diagrams, and dramatically improves the pilots
ability to manage cumbersome paper charts. At startup, the
departure airport chart is automatically displayed for ease of
orientation, which is especially valuable at unfamiliar fields. The
destination airport diagram and the list of available approaches
are automatically loaded at the time your flight plan is entered,
and can be viewed easily using the Auto-fill capability, and the
pilot can easily select and view any approach chart for any airport
in the database.
“We’re
excited to offer CMax capability on our FlightMax Entegra, EX5000,
and EX500 customers,” said Mark Sandeen, Avidyne’s vice
president of sales and marketing. “CMax allows our customers
to easily access their charts electronically, which means less
paper in the cockpit and unmatched situational awareness during the
demanding approach and landing phases of flight.”
“We are very excited to be working with Jeppesen to
unleash the age of the paperless flight deck,” said Avidyne
president, Dan Schwinn. “We have seen a clear shift toward
electronic charts as pilots and regulators become familiar and
comfortable with the new technology.”
