AHM Announces Fundraising Program: 'The Last Flying Connie Will Fly Again'

After a major engine blow out in Kansas City last month, The Airline History Museum tells ANN that it has instituted a fundraising plan that will put the Lockheed Constellation back in the air.

The museum figures it will take about $125,000.00 to repair the Wright R-3350 and the Connie's exterior. With current tax deductible donations from both members and organizations the museum now has enough money for the deposit to send the engine to California to start the overhaul. The volunteers who have helped with getting the engines ready are also working on the wing repair.

This aircraft is a piece of history and will be flying again next spring to air shows across the nation.

Although some money has been collected the museum still needs contributions to complete the work and keep the museum operating.

Your gift, whatever its size, will help in the restoration of this unique aviation treasure. Please mail your tax deductible gift to the Airline History Museum at 201 NW Lou Holland Drive Kansas City, Missouri 64116 or call (816)421-3401 and they will put the donation on your credit card.
