Trump May Attend 787-10 Rollout In SC

Would Be The First Visit To SC Campus By A Sitting President

President Donald Trump may attend the rollout of Boeing's newest Dreamliner Friday, according to multiple media outlets.

The Hill reports that The Seattle Times hinted that Trump might be at the ceremony unveiling the 787-10. If so, it would be the first time a sitting President has visited the South Carolina campus, according to Boeing executives.

The FAA has posted a safety advisory for the airspace around Charleston for Friday Afternoon, but not yet a TFR. "Expect VIP movement February 17, 2017 in the vicinity of Charleston, SC.  Pilots can expect airspace restrictions in conjunction with this VIP movement.  The FAA recommends that all aircraft operators check NOTAMs OFTEN for  mandatory airspace restrictions prior to operations within this region.

Specific instructions and restrictions are available at http://tfr.faa.gov once the NOTAM has been issued," the advisory states.

Boeing would not comment to the Charleston Post and Courier about any potential Presidential visit.

Prior to his inauguration, Trump was critical of Boeing over the cost of new Air Force One aircraft the company will build. But the company says it has made "great progress on simplifying the requirements for Air Force One" to bring the costs down.
