European Aviation Event Called Biggest, Best So Far

Geneva Show Hosted By EBAA and NBAA

You know the saying: two working together accomplish more than two working separately.

That was true for the March European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE2007) held in Geneva, which, when concluded, topped records as the strongest-ever European business aviation event and the biggest and best show in the organization's seven-year history, reported the Der Mobilitätsmanager.

EBACE2007 was a collaborative effort of the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). Both groups report the convention -- the only major European event focused solely on business aviation -- saw record attendance, exhibitors, and display aircraft.

Attendance was 11,267, a 15 percent jump over last; the exhibitor count reached 354, up 18 percent; and the 1,423 booth spaces were up 15 percent over 2006.

Additionally, a record-setting 61 business aircraft were displayed, with 56 business aircraft on static display at Geneva International Airport and five aircraft (including four helicopters) at Geneva PALEXPO.

The three-day event featured information sessions designed to promote safety and operational excellence in the European general aviation community.

Judith Moreton, managing director of Bombardier Skyjet International, and Mark Wilson, chief executive of the British Business and General Aviation Association, were awarded the EBACE2007 European Business Aviation Award for their outstanding contributions to European business aviation.

Next year's EBACE event is scheduled for May 20 through 22, 2008, at Geneva PALEXPO and Geneva International Airport. EBAA and NBAA will host EBACE in Geneva through 2012.
