NBAA President Bolen Concerned About NTSB Accident Report Burden

NBAA President Ed Bolen has made it clear that he has concerns about the NTSB's recent notices about accident reporting.

In a statement released late Thursday to ANN, Bolen noted that, "NBAA has broad concerns about the NTSB's proposed expansion of reportable items for the business aviation community. As proposed, the increases in reporting for accidents and loss of aircraft electronic displays, coupled with the addition of in-flight resolution advisories, will add a significant paperwork burden to an already rigorous regulatory-compliance process for our Members, and in some cases could limit an operator's aircraft use.

Finally, we believe that NTSB has yet to fully explain the benefit to the public of increasing the reporting burden on business aircraft operators."
