ARINC Opens New MRO Facility At Will Rogers World Airport

OKC Operation Sports Largest Hangar In Area

On Tuesday, ARINC Engineering Services, LLC opened a sophisticated new 81,000 square-foot Aircraft Modification and Operations Center at Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport, featuring the largest commercial aircraft hangar in the OKC area.

Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins welcomed guests, and a ribbon-cutting was performed by John M. Belcher, ARINC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Young, ARINC Vice President, Aerospace Engineering Systems & Support, Richard Tanenbaum, CEO of Gardner Tanenbaum Group, and Mark Kranenburg, Oklahoma Director of Airports.

Offering more than an acre of hangar space under roof, the ARINC Aircraft Modification and Operations Center (AMOC) is large enough to accommodate four C-130 aircraft inside the hangar and eight more on the ramp. Located near the airport runways, the facility is easily accessible to commercial or military aircraft.

"ARINC serves two fast-expanding markets, for modernization of military aircraft and upgrading of commercial and general aviation airframes," stated ARINC Vice President Mike Young. "This Center is four times the size of our last facility and allows room for aggressive growth here. We have three aircraft programs operating already -- for C-26 surveillance aircraft from the Department of State, and for Cessna Encore and Citation X airframes. The size of this new facility makes our Citation X program feasible."

ARINC transferred an established work force, procedures, and certifications from its former Sundance Airpark operations to the new, larger OKC facility which is configured to handle multiple aircraft programs simultaneously. Some 30,000 square feet of offices and backshops provide in-house capability to fabricate, test, and inspect modification kit equipment—reducing the risk of delays during installation. The offices include space for visiting customers as well as ARINC management and operations personnel.

On-site capabilities include Heavy Aircraft Modifications & Upgrades, Avionics Installations, Line & Heavy aircraft maintenance, Aircraft Systems Integration & Engineering Design. The Center’s location at an international airport means virtually any needed service is available, and ARINC has pre-arranged for expedited services such as fueling and defueling of aircraft.

ARINC’s new Center is an FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station and has certified Government Flight Risk (GFR) systems in place for both ground and flight operations. It is the one of the few approved Rockwell Collins Installation & Modification Agency for Business and Regional systems in the U.S. ARINC currently offers Academic and On-aircraft training at the facility, including Pilot proficiency and mission training, Avionics and Missions systems training, and Aircraft Maintenance training.
