Aero-TV: Changing of The Guard -- Rod Hightower and the Future of EAA (Part 3)

On The Record and Without Adult Supervision (Grin), Hightower Goes One On One With ANN (Part 3)

A funny thing happened a few weeks ago at the 2010 NBAA Convention... EAA's new President was wandering the halls -- all by himself. No big entourage... no media guy at his elbow... and Tom Poberezny was nowhere in sight. In just a few weeks at the helm of EAA, it appears that the newest leader in the aero-biz has been cleared to solo and was seen at NBAA (and later at AOPA) all by his lonesome...

Hightower took over the helm of much of EAA in September and while Tom Poberezny is still very much in evidence reportedly undertaking projects that the day-to-day supervision of EAA's business would not allow, there seems to be little question that the micro-management feared by many over Hightower's role (by Tom) appears (so far) to be absent...

And while the EAA mission still needs some work and fine-tuning, there is little question that Hightower is not behaving like the puppet some thought him destined to play.

So... that being the case, ANN ran up to Rod, blocked his escape and cajoled a pretty open interview with the man on the floor of NBAA -- in front of God and everybody -- and while he didn't quite get to the root of all the questions he was asked, there is no question that he's obviously prepared to defend the EAA mission fairly well after a few weeks on the job.

Join ANN's Jim Campbell as he spends some quality time with Rod Hightower, snooty questions and all, in the second of this three part 'opening salvo' interview. Let the interview/games begin...
