Honeywell Unveils New Maintenance Solution at NBAA-BACE

Ensemble Provides End-To-End Digital Service for Turbofan Engines

Honeywell Aerospace Technologies unveiled its new Honeywell Ensemble technology on October 22; the first day of the National Business Aviation Association’s annual Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). The technology aims to serve as an end-to-end maintenance solution for business jet engines.

The software will be offered through Honeywell’s propulsion Maintenance Service Plan (MSP). It downloads and transmits nearly real-time engine health information to help crewmembers detect and address potential issues before they impact the safety of a flight. This data is paired with engine build and maintenance records for a soon-to-be digital engine logbook.

Before the Honeywell Ensemble can be operational, the aircraft must be equipped with a WiFi-based engine data portal. Then, information is securely collected and transported to Honeywell’s cloud-based platform, the Forge. The Ensemble’s alerts are displayed to operators on its paired mobile application and the Forge Engine Data Viewer.

“Honeywell Ensemble allows operators to benefit from timely and unique insights about how engines are performing,” commented Dave Marinick, president of Honeywell’s Engines and Power Systems department. “The real-time insight provided by Honeywell Ensemble will not only increase aircraft uptime and availability, but it will also give operators enhanced mission assurance and will ultimately provide a better passenger experience.”

This technology, on top of other recent MSP improvements, intends to simplify and automate mandatory data reports. Honeywell is working to add auto-billing, contract renewal, and an engine logbook to the digital Ensemble suite.

This logbook guarantees more accurate and organized recordkeeping, allowing operators to track, update, and export maintenance information whenever needed. It can also reduce maintenance costs by regulating engine service.

Honeywell Ensemble is currently available for the Bombardier Challenger 300, 350, and 3500, Textron Longitude, and Embraer Legacy and Praetor. The company will be expanding to the Dassault Falcon 900A/B and other aircraft in 2025.
