Duncan Aviation Upgrading Securaplane SD Cameras In Gulfstream Aircraft

SDs Being Retired Due To Components No Longer Available

Duncan Aviation says its technicians are ready to begin upgrading the Securaplane SD cameras in Gulfstream G350, G450, G500, and G550 aircraft. The SD cameras are being retired by Securaplanes parent company, Meggitt Technologies, because the components are no longer available.

Installation of the replacement camera, the CMX-HD series, is covered under an STC on GIV-X (G350/G450) and GV-SP (G500/G550) aircraft. The STC allows owner/operators to retrofit their existing systems without significant structural work.

The installation is a streamlined direct mechanical replacement because the external HD cameras and HD-VCUs (High-Definition Video Control Units) have the same footprint as the obsolete SD camera system.

The new HD cameras have a lightweight design with heated sapphire glass for enhanced imaging in harsh environments during flight and offer situational awareness, gear position viewing, HD-SDI 1080p resolution, and security applications.

Duncan Aviation is an aircraft service provider supporting business aircraft operators, government agencies, and other aircraft service providers. Duncan provides major and minor airframe maintenance and inspections, engine maintenance and overhauls, major retrofits for cabin and flight deck avionics, full paint and interior refurbishment, and preowned aircraft sales and acquisitions.
