Aero-Caption Contest Winner Is An 'Angel'

We Wonder If Jack Was Actually Thinking Any Of These Things

Well, after much consideration and deliberation, we have a winner for ANN's Aero-Caption contest, and it is "heavenly"

As you'll recall, we got this great photo of EAA Chairman Jack Pelton wearing a pair of the inflatable "Jetman" wings that were available at AirVenture this year, and we let you have a crack at what was going through his mind (or "what the heck was he thinking when he let himself be photographed wearing these).

So, without further ado, here are the top 10 submissions from our readers.

10) "If he can do it, I can do It”

9)  "You just wait 'til I turn around and go out this window"

8)  "I Just Flew In And It Didn't Even Muss My Hair"

7)  "It's all I got left after paying the FAA!"

6)  "Is this the grain elevator at Ripon?"

5)  "Do I look like a dummy, of course I know all I have to do is find a six story building - you understand, that height is necessary to reach terminal velocity for the lift."

4)  "Low budget testing of Pelton's inflatable personal jet pack fails to get off the ground!"

3)  "I expect the FAA to certify it in the usual 25 years."

2)  “Actually, I like my Iron Man suit better!”

And the winner of the autographed Klyde Morris book for the best caption:

Winner) "It's The EAA's Version Of The Victoria's Secret Angels Wings, and I'm This Year's Cover Model."

(Cue the band)

Congratulations to Doug Rice for submitting the winning entry, and thanks to everybody who sent a caption.
