Airborne-Unmanned 01.28.20: CityAirbus eVTOL, Super Bowl TFR, Autonomous Cargo

The CityAirbus eVTOL quad-rotor aircraft has completed its first flight at the Airbus facility in Donauwörth, Germany. Free flight testing follows the first tethered flight of the aircraft in May of last year. CityAirbus released a video of the first test flight. According to Airbus, CityAirbus is an all-electric, four-seat, multicopter vehicle demonstrator that focuses on advancing remotely piloted electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flight. A Sikorsky S-76B helicopter carrying NBA Legend, Kobe Bryant, has gone down with the loss of all on board. The total fatalities stand at nine people, all reportedly traveling in the rotorcraft. The accident site is in Calabasas, California. The weather was overcast with impaired visibility, while the accident was reported to have occurred at approximately 0945 local time. Apple has hired an attorney specializing in drone and aviation law to act as a lobbyist for the company in Washington, D.C.
