2010 Sport Aviation Expo Attendees Reflect on
the LSA Market
ANN Note: As we cover the 2011 US Sport
Aviation Expo, ANN has to admit that we have great concerns about
the direction and viability of the LSA market. While events like
the US SAE have done a spectacular job (no kidding... we are truly
impressed) of helping to provide a focal point for all things LSA,
the poor direction provided to LSA by the FAA and a number of the
alphabet associations leaves us wondering whether or not the the
tremendous potential offered by the LSA market will ever get the
chance to become a reality.
President Told It's A Bad Idea By Members On Both Sides Of The
Aisle
The NBAA welcomed a bipartisan letter signed by 116 members of
the U.S. House of Representatives urging President Obama to keep
user fees out of the administration's fiscal year 2012 budget.
The FAA dedicated a new airport traffic control tower for
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) on Friday that will replace the one which
has served the airport since 1964. In 2010, air traffic
controllers at LGA handled nearly 400,000 takeoffs and
landings.
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York
has approved Mesa Air Group’s Plan of Reorganization,
clearing the way for the airline’s emergence from Chapter
11.
Aerospace Capital Partners, LLC to Acquire Gobosh Aviation
After nearly 8 months of negotiations, Gobosh LSA, LLC and
Aerospace Capital Partners, LLC announced that they have reached an
agreement for Aerospace Capital Partners to acquire Gobosh for an
undisclosed amount.
An internal memo released by Bell Helicopter's Mirabel, Canada
division says the company's 'Project X' has been re-named
'Magellan', and will result in a new helicopter.
Due of the large number of aircraft operating to and from the
Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area during the week of Super Bowl
XLV, there are procedures that will be used to enhance safety and
minimize air traffic delays.
"This acquisition is excellent news for current and
future owners and operators of Gobosh aircraft."

The purpose of EAS is to improve aviation safety and the safety
of space operations by combining our understanding of human
learning and performance and our knowledge of emergency, abnormal,
and off-nominal situations and the operational contexts in which
they occur.
A defined surface surrounding the runway prepared, or suitable,
for reducing the risk of damage to airplanes in the event of an
undershoot, overshoot, or excursion from the runway.
