uAvionix Enables Autopilot Integration

AV-30 Now Supports BendixKing, TruTrak Vizion With Software Update

uAvionix has released new digital autopilot and external magnetometer support for the AV-30-E display.

The AV-30-E is the Experimental version of the multi-display instrument, capable of showing a variety of cockpit indicators. The AV-30 can, of course, display any of the traditional 6-pack instruments, in addition to angle of attack, G-meter, temperature, density altitude, voltage, GPS data overlay, navigational HSI, and more with more than 2 hours of internal battery operation out of the box. Its companion piece, the uAvionix AV-Link, allows for a compact, wi-fi network on board that can connect to external ADS-B receivers, GPS equipment, live traffic, and more.

The new autopilot support has further refined the AV-30 Experimental ecosystem by introducing additional autopilot brands, now software-upgradable to work with TruTrak's Vizion 385 and Vizion PMA, as well as BendixKing's xCruze 100 and AeroCruze 100. The no-cost software update is only the most recent in a string of improvements pushed to the system by uAvionix in their effort to keep their system in the forefront of interconnectivity for experimental operators and home builders.

The interface is all software, requiring no expensive interface adapters. Future developments are in store, including analog autopilot integration, external magnetometers, and more. Certification for the non-experimental version of the system, the AV-30-C, is underway, said uAvionix, with additional, no-cost integrations to come.
