Sportys Skyhawk To Be Awarded September 14th

...And We Probably Won't Win Then, Either

Feeling lucky? Your life may change on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. That's the day one lucky Sporty's customer will be chosen as winner of Sporty's 2005 Sweepstakes. If your phone rings shortly after noon, it just might be Sporty's Founder and Chairman Hal Shevers calling to tell you, "You're the winner!"

Just three months remain to enter to win a brand-new Skyhawk. Keep track of the days remaining until you could be a winner by checking out the countdown calendar at sportys.com/sweepstakes.

The 2005 Super Sweepstakes aircraft is special in that it is the 150,000th single engine aircraft produced by Cessna. This aircraft lists for more than $200,000 and comes equipped with a complete Bendix/King avionics package, including a KLN 94 IFR-approach certified GPS with color moving map, a KMD 550 multifunction display, a KT-76C Transponder, a KAP 140 dual-axis autopilot with altitude pre-select and dual KX-155A Nav/Comms.

This package also features Bendix/King Data Link Weather, which displays NEXRAD images, METARs, TAFs and PIREPs. Two Sigtronics S-AR ANR Headsets are also included. Sporty's remains the only company giving away a brand-new airplane each year. The 2005 Super Sweepstakes represents the 20th year for awarding a new airplane and the 23rd aircraft awarded to a customer, totaling nearly $3 million.

In addition to awarding a brand-new Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP to one lucky winner, more than two dozen additional prizes will be awarded on Sweepstakes Day.

ANN Note: It must be noted, by the way, that as nice as we've been to Hal Shevers, that he seems to have NOT gotten the hint that ANN REALLY deserves to win this airplane. I mean, after all, we've been REALLY nice to this guy every time we see him:

  • "Hi Hal, it's SO good to see you, how are you?"
  • "You're looking good today, Hal."
  • "Wax your car, Mr. Shevers?"

We've tried EVERY trick in the book. Hmmmmppphhh... There's no pleasing some guys. So... to whomever wins the Skyhawk this year, be advised that you'll be flying OUR airplane...
