Official Trade-In Program Helps Reuse Serviceable Parts with Manufacturer Expertise
Hartzell has continued to expand its product offerings for current operators, this time announcing a purchasing program for serviceable cores and serialized parts.
The program is open to fleet operators, MROs, and aircraft owners themselves. The change is aimed at reducing overhaul lead times, while giving buyers options to acquire parts that hit the sweet spot between usable and affordable. Now, Hartzell will accept a customer propeller for any general aviation make or model, and accordingly reduce the purchase price of a new or used piece. There are some stipulations, of course, like the need to include a complete logbook and maintenance history, appropriate 8130-3 certificates, and a recorded Time Since New sheet.
While announcing the program, Hartzell once again highlighted the benefits of stopping by their Piqua Airport location at Hartzell Field, where their local Service Center enables clients to fly-in and hangar their plane while the propellers are serviced.
Should they go that route, customers can take advantage of an Ohio state sales tax exemption, shaving some extra cost of that prop work. Should they not be able to make the voyage themselves, customers can choose from Hartzell's delivery and shipping options.
Hartzell also highlighted its official Service Center's breadth of expertise. Their Piqua location sits close to their composite and aluminum propeller manufacturing center, providing near-immediate parts availability with no added shipping costs, along with better support, engineering expertise, and factory-level repairs. While the ownership experience in general aviation may remain somewhat expensive, at least there are some fine deals to be had along the way.
