Aero-TV: GA Needs An Affordable HUD – MyGoFlight Wants To Provide It!

GA HUD's Potential -- Look Up, Look Out, Be Aware, Be Safe!

ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, stopped to visit with a company called MyGoFlight when he was covering events at Sun ‘n Fun 2015.

To get the scoop, Jim met with MyGoFlight CEO, Charles Schneider. Schneider said that technology is good, but we are still in a situation where we have to look ‘heads down’ to see it. MyGoFlight’s answer to this is called the Heads Up Display (HUD).

Of course, we’ve all heard of HUD, but it only seems to be associated with very high-end aircraft. MyGoFlight is looking at a solution to bring HUD technology into the market that is affordable on general aviation aircraft. They do this through a unique system of using data supplied on an iPad to wirelessly connect to an overhead display projector.

Schneider said the concept was first introduced at AirVenture last year and has moved into more advanced developmental models. They are hoping to have an operational prototype for demonstration at AirVenture 2015.

This video provides an interesting insight to the development of a new product that could be a game changer in general aviation.
