Airborne 10.16.23: NBAA23!, Bob Davis Goes West, Girls In Aviation

Also: AH-64E Apache, AAR Elects Billy Nolen, Automated Air-to-Air Refueling, Reg Overhaul

The Aero-News team is in Las Vegas to bring you all the news from NBAA-BACE 2023... though it may not be the newsiest such event of recent note.

With the absence of mighty Gulfstream and the alleged loss of other vendors, this may be a slightly muted undertaking. What IS at NBAA is much increased security due to concerns about previous incidents with eco-protesters that have harassed and attacked business aviation aircraft and events. Bob Davis, EAA 33006 and IAC 103, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023. In addition to his decades of dedication to EAA, he was also a 2002 inductee into the IAC Hall of Fame and an air show performer at Oshkosh for many years. Girls around the world participated in the 9th Annual Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) organized by Women in Aviation International (WAI) on 23 September 2023. Through unique local events hosted by WAI chapters and corporate members, the number of GIAD participants more than doubled to over thirty-thousand compared to sixteen-thousand attendees at GIAD 2022. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
