Upgraded: Ibis' Chris Danner

Ibis Aerospace Appoints Chris Danner To Head Ae270 Product Support Program

Ibis Aerospace has named Chris Danner as Director of Product Support for its Ae270 Propjet program. Reporting to Jeff Conrad, VP of Marketing, Danner will implement a world-class product support program for Ibis’ customers and distributors. His duties will include managing customer engineering support, maintenance reliability, and other global customer support programs. Danner will be based in Kerrville.

Danner recently held a similar position at Sino Swearingen Aircraft Company where he managed more than 20 dealers and instituted the company’s product support policies. Danner has also held support positions with Raytheon Aircraft and British Aerospace. He began his aerospace career with the Royal Air Force. Danner holds degrees in marketing and engineering, has received certifications in logistics and maintenance management, and has over 20 years experience with BAE 146, Hawker and C-130 engineering support.

“Chris will develop the processes and the organization to provide timely, accurate responses to Ae270 owners and service centers,” Conrad said. “Ibis is committed to implementing a superior global support system to enhance flight operations and ownership value.”

In addition to the appointment of Chris Danner, Ibis has named Wayne Plucker to head its customer support program. Plucker was previously with Sino Swearingen where he was responsible for logistics and maintenance operations. He brings to Ibis qualifications in advanced information systems, technical writing, training and flight operations management, and maintenance program management.

The Ae270 Propjet is a large-cabin, pressurized aircraft designed to carry up to ten people (two crew plus eight passengers). It will cover stage lengths of up to 1,610 nm with fuel reserves. The Ae270 can also be configured for bulk cargo. As a six to seven passenger executive transport it provides ease of operation, safety, economy and comfort only available in larger, more expensive aircraft. The Ae270 Propjet is redefining mission capability and economics of general aviation aircraft for today’s travel needs.

FAA certification of the Ae270 is scheduled by the end of 2003. First deliveries will take place in the first quarter of 2004. The Ae270 is being certified for FAR 23 single pilot operation and will be eligible for FAR Part 135 operation.
