AD: Saab AB, Saab Aeronautics Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2019-19-04

PRODUCT: All Saab AB, Saab Aeronautics Model SAAB 2000 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by reports of cracks in the o-ring groove of magnetic fuel level indicators.

This AD requires a one-time detailed inspection of the magnetic fuel level indicator for cracks and replacement of cracked magnetic fuel level indicators.

DATES: This AD is effective October 31, 2019.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 11 airplanes of U.S. registry. Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

  • Required actions: 6 work-hours × $85 per hour = $510 per airplane.
  • On-Condition Costs: 2 work-hours × $85 per hour = $170 labor. Parts: $20,000. Cost per airplane: $20,170.
