Air France Jet Skids Off Runway, Burns

No Word Yet On Injuries At Toronto's Pearson Airport

ANN REAL TIME NEWS: 1812 EDT -- CNN reports all passengers survived after an Air France Airbus A340 skidded off the end of the runway in Toronto, Tuesday, broke apart and burst into flames.

1805 EDT -- There have been at least "some" casualties aboard an Air France Airbus A340 after it skidded off the runway and burst into flames upon landing at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

AM 680 Radio reported at least two explosions amid the fire. The Canadian radio station said two groups of passengers had been evacuated from the burning aircraft, but some passengers could later be seen climbing from emergency exits.

The A340 carried 252 passengers and crewmembers.

1707 EDT -- An Air France Airbus A340 landing at Pearson International Airport in Toronto Tuesday, apparently ran off the end of the runway and into a wooded area, where the aircraft began to burn.

Initial reports from the scene indicated the aircraft had landed in the midst of a heavy thunderstorm.
