AIAA Hap Arnold Award Winner

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has chosen Patrick Waddick as the 2004 recipient of its Hap Arnold Award for Excellence in Aeronautical Program Management. The award is presented to an individual for outstanding contributions in the management of a significant aeronautical or aeronautical related program or project.

The award, consisting of an engraved bronze medal, a certificate of citation and a rosette pin, will be presented to Waddick on 21 September 2004 at the awards luncheon in conjunction with the AIAA Aircraft Technology, Integration, and Operations Forum in Chicago (IL).

Waddick is Vice President of Engineering at Cirrus Design Corporation in Duluth (MN). He was selected based on his contributions to the highly successful Cirrus SR-20/SR-22 General Aviation Single Engine Piston Aircraft light plane program that has resulted in over 1,500 aircraft produced over the past 5 years.

The certificate is inscribed with, "Mr. Waddick developed an engineering team, led a new general aviation project through successful FAA Type Certification, and now supports three aircraft per day production in a start-up company."
