Regional Pilots Ratify New Contract

Chautauqua Pilots Overwhelmingly Vote in Favor of New Labor Agreement

Secret ballots were counted at the Teamsters Local 747 office Friday morning after voting by the pilots of Chautauqua Airlines. The pilot group approved the new labor agreement by a margin of 95% in favor of ratification.

Upon execution of the new contract, the Chautauqua pilots will receive substantial wage increases, putting them among the highest paid in the regional airline industry. The Chautauqua pilots will also receive enhanced job security. The new contract mandates that all flying performed by Chautauqua or any subsidiary of the parent, Republic Airways, will be performed by pilots from the Chautauqua master seniority list.

Chautauqua Airlines, a private regional air carrier headquartered in Indianapolis (IN), operates a fleet of 78 Embraer regional jets on over 500 daily flights to 67 cities in 28 States, Canada and the Bahamas. The airline operates under code-sharing agreements with American Airlines, Delta Airlines and US Airways. The airline will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2004.
