Qatar Aeronautical Academy Partners with Skyborne

The Vero Beach Doha Connection

Founded in 1977 as the Civil Aviation Academy of the Gulf States, the entity known today as the Qatar Aeronautical Academy has evolved into the Gulf region’s leading provider of professional training for pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, meteorologists, airport operations management personnel, and security and immigration officers.

Qatar Aeronautical Academy has selected Skyborne Airline Academy—the U.S.-based aviation training concern with operations in Vero Beach, Florida and Gloucestershire, U.K.—to serve as a satellite training center for students eligible for employment with Middle Eastern air-carriers.

Skyborne Airline Academy managing director Ed Davidson stated: “We’re proud that the quality and professionalism offered by Skyborne has resulted in a new partnership with a leading Middle East pilot training academy. Skyborne has consistently demonstrated a level of service that sets us apart as potential partners for the world’s leading airlines and their training academies and ensures we can offer both domestic and international trainees the best possible training for their future careers.”

The Qatar Aeronautical Academy’s offshore training will be undertaken at Skyborne’s Vero Beach campus, at which successful student pilots will complete the Qatar flight syllabus before traveling to Doha for purpose of finalizing their Qatari licenses. Qatar Aeronautical Academy is located on a purpose-built campus adjacent the Doha International Airport in Ras Abu Aboud.

Qatar Aeronautical Academy director general Sheikh Jabor Bin Hamad M. Al-Thani set forth: The future of our industry depends upon boosting the number of skilled pilots, and we’re proud to offer a very attractive training program to achieve exactly that. Skyborne shares our commitment to professionalism and quality and will prove an ideal partner in realizing this goal.”

Founded by chairman Tom Minser, CEO Lee Woodward, and COO Ian Cooper, Skyborne Airline Academy aspires to the highest standards of education, safety, and relevant, interactive, airline-style training.

Determined to minimize remedial training, reduce failure rates, and provide airlines superior flight-deck and cabin crew personnel, Skyborne assesses the competence, suitability, aptitude, and resilience of prospective students by dint of an incisive combination of classical vetting methods and cutting-edge technologies.
