ASA Releases Pilots Manual Ground School 7th Edition

Along With Private Pilot Syllabus 9th Edition

Aviation Supplies & Academics, Inc. (ASA) announced the release of its updated seventh edition of The Pilot’s Manual: Ground School that covers all the knowledge required for the written Private and Commercial FAA Knowledge Exams and the oral portion of the practical exam (checkride).

The text is complemented by more than 800 full-color illustrations and photos to provide students with a detailed understanding of complex topics such as the aerodynamics of flight, airplane operations and maneuvers, aircraft performance, airport operations, regulations, human physiology in flight, chart reading, airspace and airspace rules, navigation, weather concepts and its impact on operational factors, flight planning, and many more topics.

All topics in the Manual are required for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam, and all content is organized to provide a building-block approach to learning. This concept aligns with the ASA Test Prep series.

Pilots working on their Commercial Pilot Certificate will find separate, clearly labeled sections in the book to assist in their preparation for the Commercial  Pilot FAA Knowledge Exam. It includes review questions and answer keys for each chapter, a comprehensive glossary of aviation abbreviations and acronyms – and there are plenty! – as well as a detailed index.

Free instructor resources are also available such as PowerPoints and quizzes. The Foreward is written by Barry Schiff, a world-recognized pilot who earned his ATP at the age of 21, and earned every FAA certificate available in every category except airship. He has more than 23,000 flight hours in over 350 aircraft types.

This book is part of The Pilot’s Manual Series used by universities as standard classroom texts.

The companion Private Pilot Syllabus has been updated to reflect the new textbook edition, and is a comprehensive and integrated ground and flight training curriculum appropriate to both Part 61 and Part 141 programs.

The Pilot’s Manual: Ground School is available in hardcover, 728 pages with color images. The Private Pilot Syllabus is available in softcover, 72 pages. Both books  are available at your local FBO, online, or on the website below.

Pricing is as follows:
