Key Industry Leaders Will Convene In Atlanta On May 4-5
The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) has
published the final agenda for its upcoming Pilot Training Reform
Symposium. Keynote speakers include Mel Cintron, FAA General
Aviation and Commercial Division Manager; Jack Pelton, Cessna
Aircraft Company President; and FAA Administrator Randy
Babbitt.
Additionally, King Schools Co-Owner Martha King will lead an
Industry Leadership Panel consisting of GAMA President Pete Bunce,
AOPA Director of Public Relations Jennifer Storm, Cessna Chairman
Jack Pelton, Sporty's Founder Hal Shevers, Cirrus CEO Brent
Wouters, Diamond Aircraft Director of Fleet Sales David Moser, and
Flight Standards Deputy Director John McGraw. Nearly thirty other
prominent industry leaders will participate on panels ranging from
doctrine, standards, and curricula reform, to safety challenges and
growing general aviation, to aviation and flight
educators.
The Pilot Training Reform Symposium will convene at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, GA on May 4-5, 2011. Many of the industry's
top aviation professionals have registered for the event and are
expected to work collaboratively during the symposium and beyond to
secure a healthy future for general aviation.
Following registration and an opening reception Tuesday,
Wednesday's panel discussions include Safety, Growth through Pilot
Training Reform, Flight Training Doctrine, modernizing standards,
and a panel made up of Master Instructors and Flight Instructors of
the Year.
On Thursday, the morning discussions include breakout sessions
based on the themes presented Wednesday, with the afternoon devoted
primarily to Industry Leadership. FAA Administrator Randy
Babbitt will present the keynote address at lunch on Thursday.
