Aero-News Quote of the Day

"Millions of air passengers may soon have vast amounts of their personal data scrutinized by CAPPS II. It is time for the government to be more forthcoming about this system and its likely impact on privacy rights."

Source: David Sobel, General Counsel, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), on TSA plans to revise CAPPS II, designed to assess the risks posed to air travel by individual passengers. The government is rethinking the scope of CAPPS II, but privacy advocates remain skeptical and EPIC is suing for more details under the Freedom of Information Act.
