New Global HQ In The Works For A J Walter Aviation

Company About To Occupy A New, Half-Million Square Foot Warehouse For The Operation

A J Walter Aviation’s new campus will see the development of a significant global HQ and logistics center close to Gatwick Airport in the UK. The site encompasses over 60 acres, and will provide a purpose-built HQ office and storage facilities for AJW’s extensive range of Airbus and Boeing components, engines and consumables. Construction began over a year ago, and as it nears completion, the state-of-the-art warehouse is the first part of the new premises to have become operational this June.

The increased capacity afforded by the new warehouse will house additional inventories of aircraft spares which are needed to service AJW’s expanding airline customer base and larger units, such as engines, will continue to be stored in the on-site Logistics Center.

The Company also holds substantial stock at its facilities in Miami, Dubai and Singapore as well as strategic hubs in North America and throughout Europe. This combined capability enables AJW to service a customer base of around 800 airlines on a daily basis and to provide extensive operational support worldwide for nearly 400 aircraft under contract - a larger fleet than most airlines.

“We are spearheading a global strategy designed to deliver exponential growth for the business” says Andy Smith, Operations Director of A J Walter Aviation. “The new warehouse will utilise the latest technologies for stock control and component management, as well as maintain stringent security. To meet the needs of our airline partners we specified facilities of the highest standard and the only way to ensure all of our technical, organisational and social priorities will be met has been to design and build our own exceptional environment.”

Phased occupation of the striking headquarters will commence shortly and it is envisaged that the whole organisation will be operational on site by the end of August.
