Aviation Foundation Course Cadets Graduate

Dubai-Based Academy Prepares Pilots For Careers In Europe, Australia

Global pilot training group Airways Aviation announces the graduation of its first Aviation Foundation Course cadets at a ceremony held at its Dubai Knowledge Village campus recently.

The Airways Foundation Course prepares cadets for either European EASA and Australian CASA pathways with high level theoretical knowledge which covers aviation fundamentals including Aviation English, Meteorology, Aerodynamics, Navigation among others over a period of 8 to 15 weeks (subject to cadet requirements) as a first step towards commencing their commercial flight training for aeroplanes or helicopters in the UK or Australia.

Mahmoud Alhawaj, one of the trainee graduates in the program, said: "I feel I have learned so much during the course and now feel confident and even more excited to start my practical training at the Airways Aviation training facilities in Australia."

"I am really impressed with the high level of enthusiasm and depth of knowledge that this first group of cadets have graduated with," said Aviation instructor Captain Ahmed Refay. "They came in with absolutely no aviation background, and today the first of them have arrived in Australia to continue their flight training. I am very proud of them, and can't wait to see them in the cockpits of large commercial jets."

"Graduating our first cohort of Aviation Foundation cadets in the UAE is a moment of great pride for us and we look forward to tracking and supporting the progress of our graduates and alumni as they move forward and up in their professional lives as Commercial Airline Pilots," said Romy Hawatt, Global CEO of Airways Aviation.

"It is reported that the UAE's aviation sector is expected to contribute $53 billion to the country's economy by 2020 and will also provide up to a further 750,000 jobs. Commercial Airline Pilots will play an important role in driving this growth and we therefore anticipate a natural increase in the number of candidates who will be seeking aviation career pathways with us."
