AD: Airbus Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2017-22-07

PRODUCT: Certain Airbus Model A319 series airplanes; Model A320-211, -212, -214, -231, -232, and -233 airplanes; and Model A321-111, - 112, -131, -211, -212, -213, -231, and -232 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY:  This AD was prompted by a report of cracks on frame forks and outer skin on the forward and aft cargo compartment doors.

This AD requires repetitive inspections of the frame forks, and corrective actions if necessary.

This AD also includes optional modifications that constitute terminating action.

COST: The FAA estimates  that this AD affects 88 airplanes of U.S. registry.

The inspection is estimated to cost $2,125 per aircraft. The modification is estimated to cost up to $2,280 for parts and labor per aircraft.

DATES: This AD is effective January 2, 2018.
