Wichita Plans Multiple Aviation Events In September

Last Week Of The Month Will Be Packed With Aviation Activities

Wichita, KS, will apparently be the place to be for aviation events at the end of September. There are multiple events scheduled that are designed to raise the profile of GA that week.

Organizers say they hope that the last week of September will become an annual aviation expo, which will include a Wichita Aero Club luncheon and a two-day Wichita Flight Festival, according to a report in the Wichita Eagle. This year, Cessna CEO Scott Ernst is scheduled as the keynote speaker for the Kansas Expo Takeoff Reception on Sept. 26.

Events will be held at the National Center for Aviation Training on the 26th and 27th, with the Wichita Flight Festival being held at Jabara Airport on the 28th and 29th.

The inaugural aviation expo is designed to highlight the role of the state's aviation office in Kansas. It is sponsored by the Kansas Department to Transportation and the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education. Plans call for sessions on fuel taxes, ATC, insurance, UAVs and the decline of both private pilots and flight clubs.
